HostingDownUnder

About HostingDownUnder

Every web hosting comparison site in Australia earns affiliate commissions. They recommend whoever pays them the most — not whatever is best for you. We started HostingDownUnder because we were tired of that.

What We Do

We write honest, plain-English guides about web hosting for Australian small businesses. We review hosting providers based on research, not on who pays us. We explain the things that other sites skip — like what your hosting will actually cost after the intro period ends, or whether your "Australian" host is actually owned by a US company.

What We Don't Do

We don't run affiliate links. We don't accept payment from hosting providers to feature or recommend them. We don't write content designed to push you toward whichever host pays the highest commission.

This is the core of what makes us different, and we intend to keep it that way.

Who This Is For

If you're a developer who already knows the difference between Nginx and Apache, this site probably isn't for you. We write for the tradie who needs a website, the cafe owner who got burned by GoDaddy, the accountant whose web designer told them they need "hosting" but didn't explain what that means.

Our goal is to help non-technical Australians make informed hosting decisions without needing to learn a new language first.

Part of the DownUnder Network

HostingDownUnder is part of a family of independent Australian resource sites, including TinyDownUnder (tiny homes) and eBikesDownUnder (e-bikes). Each site follows the same principle: independent, honest, Australian.
